Finishes
Arturo Álvarez in the last few years proposed himself to reinterpret the customary use of common everyday materials, removing them from their usual context in order to seek a new purpose. His inspiration comes from the simplicity of life and people, nearby, nature, reflections of his inner world and therefore palpable in his designs.
Mesh and silicone
After two years of development, the mixture of both ones ended up with the birth of a new material, flexible, malleable, washable, translucent, with multiple possibilities and endless volumes, shapes and possible textures. Countless stalwarts follow the collections: NEVO, GEA, PLANUM, METRICA, IKI, HEXA, CORAL, KITE and SPLINE.
Polypropylene strips
A rigid and flexible material, but also malleable and with infinite possibilities. BETY, AROS and TINA collections were born. BETY is present at the Museum of Decorative Arts of Barcelona and it was chosen as one of the icons of the Spanish design over the last few years. These collections were and are key players in several important events and relevant commercial works.
Methacrylate with glass
The glass overlay on the methacrylate allows to enhance the clean beauty of the opalines by themselves, so to introduce more conceptual and contemporary designs. From this idea VENTO was born and it has never stopped to win lots of hearts around the world. NORMAN and NIM are simple and elegant creations as well.
Italian glass mosaic
A fine material of great beauty and elegance. GILDA arises, as the most luxurious collection of the catalogue and with an amazing beauty, decorating several palaces and constructions where luxury is the key.
Plywood
In this particular case the designer has turned it around and the edge of the material attracts the attention, with its lines in full view. The coloured Formica® finishes, in the inside of the plywood bars that make up the lamp, end up embellishing the whole design. He creates UXI, SHIO and LE, warm, seductive and with a great conceptual strength where wood offers a new value.
FABRIC
Fabric worked as if woven. It has great strength and amazing volume. MIUU appears as a complete collection, with a wide palette of colours that allow multiple combinations.
Stainless steel
The external metallic supports of the lamps of arturo alvarez are AISI 304 stainless steel. Because of its special alloy, it is a high quality steel with excellent resistance to rust. It has a good elastic capability and it is very hard to break. This material is also recyclable.
